Create your Indiana Medicaid (FSSA) portal account

  1. Go to the FSSA Benefits Portal (this is where Medicaid is managed).

  2. Click “Manage Your Benefits.”

  3. Select “Create Account.”

  4. Enter your information:

    • Social Security Number

    • Date of birth

    • ZIP code

  5. Create a username and password.

  6. Log in — your existing Medicaid application will link automatically if your info matches.

After you create your account, you can:

  • Check your Medicaid application status

  • Upload documents (proof of income, ID, etc.)

  • See approval/denial letters

  • Report changes (job, address, household)

 

⚠️ If your application doesn’t show up - This happens sometimes. Try:

  • Double-checking you used the same SSN and personal info

  • Waiting 1–2 days (system updates can lag)

  • Calling FSSA Division of Family Resources (DFR): 800-403-0864

 

💡 Important tip

Even if you applied by phone, mail, or in person, you can still create the online account later — it’s not required upfront.
