How to create your Illinois Medicaid (ABE) account

1. Go to the ABE Illinois website ABE

2. Click “Manage My Case.”

3. Select “Create a new ABE User ID and Password.”

4. Enter your personal info:

   • Name

   • Date of birth

   • Last 4 digits of SSN (or full SSN depending on step)

5. Create your login credentials.

6. Log in and link your case/application.

🔗 Important step: Link your application

After logging in, you’ll need to connect your account to your application:

• Click “Link my case” (or similar option)

• Enter:

  • Case number or

  • Social Security Number + DOB

👉 Once matched, your Medicaid application will show up in your account.

 

 What you can do after linking

• Check your Medicaid application status

• Upload documents (ID, income proof, etc.)

• View letters and notices

• Renew or update your benefits

⚠️ If your case won’t link - This is pretty common. Try:

• Waiting 24–48 hours after applying

• Making sure your name/SSN matches exactly

• Using your case number if you have it
